Robert “Buddy” Akers, 65, of Iuka, MS passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. He enjoyed working, as he was a boat pilot for 40 years. Buddy enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Kristian Johnson (Donald); his sister, Stephanie Barnett (Tommy); his brother, Mark Akers (Amy); his brother in law, Carl Booker; his grandchildren, Eden Akers and Hunter Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Joe and Emma Frances Curtis Akers; his sister, Terri Booker; his brother, Stanley Akers; and his infant brother, Patrick Akers. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2020 from 5pm until 8pm, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11am at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Gene Gist.
