Mr. Bowen was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and was retired from Reynolds Metal Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Scott Delashaw and Bro. Jerome Sherrill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 6, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Survivors include wife, Sue Cummings Bowen; son, Johnny Bowen (Teressa); daughter, Shannon Pike (Randy); grandchildren, Cody Bowen (Joshlyn), Paige Bowen and Ryan Pike; great-grandchildren, Triston, Bailey and Jaiden; brother, Billy Bowen (Peggy); family friends, Dr. Terry Graves and Bettie Entrekin.

Pallbearers will be Murray Morrow, Mason Smith, Gene Ellison, Charles (Satch) Jones, Wayne Jackson, Tommy Jackson and Gerald Scott.

Honorary bearers will be Robert Parmer, Sherman Smith, Tommy Shoemaker, Bro. Clinton Busler, Denton McCarley, Pete Thorn, Reynold’s Retired Breakfast Buddies and Cedar Creek Friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Josephine Bowen; and mother-in-law, Melba Cummings.
