Robert (Bob) Parry of Selmer, TN"B±;eo Robert (Bob) Parry was born May 12, 1944 in Memphis, TN the son of the late John Henry and Helen Ramaggi Parry.

He was united in marriage to Terry Moore on January 11, 1964.

Mr. Parry graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis. Following graduation, he attended Memphis State University. Mr. Parry worked for Welcome Wagon before beginning a career in transportation. He was employed as a dock foreman for Gordon’s Transportation in Memphis, working his way up to district manager. He also worked in sales for AAA Cooper Transportation in Memphis before becoming the Transportation Supervisor for Henco in Selmer. The Parry family left Memphis in 1975, spending a year each in Calhoun, GA and Charleston, WV before moving to Birmingham, where they resided for 6 years. In 1988, Mr. Parry and his wife Terry founded Transway, for which he served as Vice-President; they retired in 1999. Mr. Parry was a charter member and the first President of the Selmer Kiwanis Club, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Memphis Chapter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. Mr. Parry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church in Selmer.

Mr. Parry departed this life on March 15, 2014 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 10 Months, 3 Days. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Terry (Moore) Parry of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Helen (Parry) Ingle of Selmer, TN; a son, Vance Parry and wife Kim of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren: Alison (Ingle) Lee and husband Kyle, Emily Ingle, and Jacob Vance Parry; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Lee and Elayna Johnson; a sister, Jean Smith of Memphis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parry was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Catherine (Bunny) Kellogg and Barbara Jackson; and a brother, Jack Parry.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
