Robert “Bob” H. McComb, Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Baptist East-Memphis, TN. Born and raised in Trenton, TN, Bob’s love story began when he met Mary Marie Cruse at a truck stop, managed by his father, in Gibson, MS. They were married on September 4, 1960, and lived in Okolona until moving to Pontotoc in 1999.He was Executive Director of the Pontotoc Housing Authority since 1999. He was a devout member of the Highway 15 church of Christ in Pontotoc. Bob frequented Seafood Junction on Saturday evenings and was always the first in line.
Survivors include his sons, Harold McComb(Andrea) and Eddie McComb(Janet); grandchildren, Andrew McComb, Cass McComb, Anthony McComb, Nikki McComb, Emily Vineyard, Megan Haymans, Timothy Stanley, and Erin Nanney; 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Leroy McComb, David McComb, Jenny Spicuzza, and Wanda Coomer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie McComb and his brother, Buddy McComb.
Services will be Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2PM at Highway 15 church of Christ in Pontotoc with Bro. Troy McNutt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 7th 5-8PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc and Friday, September 8th 12PM until service time at Highway 15 church of Christ in Pontotoc. Burial will follow in East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Cass McComb, Ricky Simmons, Jerry Hall, Walter Zinn, Andrew McComb, and Mike Montgomery.
