Robert “Bob Edward Stamper, 90, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away February 28, 2022. Robert was born in Albemarle, North Carolina on April 8, 1931 to parents Thomas and Rena Stamper. He was an Air Force Veteran, having served four years and being stationed in Germany for 16 months during the Korean War. After leaving the Air Force he worked for 42 years as a Court Reporter for the Circuit Courts in Madison County. As well, he was founder and partner in Stamper & Bufford, a court reporting firm on the Courthouse Square. Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marjorie Ann Stamper; sons, Robert Stamper, Jr. of Denver, NC, and Scott Stamper (Juliette) of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Susan Seales (Dan) of Huntsville, AL, and Sharon Stephenson (Bart) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Sarah Harmeling (Bret), Colin Stamper, Austin Stamper, Jordan Smith, Kevin Smith, Charlie Stamper, Claire Stamper, Batson Seales (Callie), Bailey Seales, Emma Stephenson, Cara Stephenson; and brother, Homer Stamper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rena Stamper; his brothers, John Stamper, Elmer Stamper, and Roy Stamper; and his sisters, Iris Cauble, Madie Hamby, and Sadie Blake. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Immediately following, a family graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels (Huntsville) at seniorview.com or to the Autism Society at autism-society.org.
