Robert Alton Wimberly, 80, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Shane Swinney will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He retired from TVA as a Pipefitter welder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Wimberly; mother, Lena Ayers Wimberly; sisters, Mary Woody and Shirley Case; and great grandson, Peyton Wimberly.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Staten” Wimberly; son, Robert Larry Wimberly of Killen, AL; daughters, Bridgette Luna of Prattville, AL and Tracey Jeffreys of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Joshua Wimberly, Nicholas Luna, Aaron Wimberly, Taylor Luna, Christi Wimberly, Zachery Headrick, Jonathon Wimberly, Abbi Gantt, Amy Landry, and Charley Wimberly; great grandchildren, Eli Wimberly, Braylie Wimberly, Hadley Landry, Samuel Landry, Rowan Luna, and Wells Luna.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wimberly, Aaron Wimberly, Jonathon Wimberly, Nicholas Luna, Taylor Luna, and Zachery Hendrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Luna, Dewyatt Jeffreys, and John Landry.
