Robert Alan Jones, long time business owner, was born November 17, 1942 in Selmer, Tennessee, the son of the late Robert Burton and Ewell Henson Jones.
He was united in marriage to Jean Rowland on September 7, 1963.
He graduated from Selmer High School and UT Martin. After graduation, he was Division Manager of John Blue Company in Huntsville, Alabama for eleven years before moving back to Selmer to join the family business, Jones Tax Service. He has been the owner for over 35 years.
He was a member of the Alabama National Guard serving in the engineering battalion. He grew up on the family farm, enjoyed hunting, riding his four wheeler and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Jones departed this life on January 4, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 1 Month, 18 Days. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jones of Selmer, TN; two sons, Michael A. Jones and wife Dawn, and Brian D. Jones and wife LeAnne all of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren, Jonathon, Elizabeth , Jacob, and Jennifer Jones; and other extended family and friends.
