Robbie “Pauline” Rushing Austin was born March 26, 1936 and passed away on April 21, 2025. She grew up in the Center Point Community in Southern Henderson County. She married Roy Austin on March 31, 1962 and they had one son, David, whom she lived with in Scotts Hill. Pauline worked in the garment factory industry and was a devoted wife and mother. She spent her life in quiet support of her husband and son, as long as she was able.
She was baptized by Bro. Coy Johnson at Saltillo Landing and added to the Lord’s Church in the early 60’s. She and her mother worshipped with the Roby Church of Christ, Scotts Hill, and Red Walnut Congregations in the past.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lucy Mildred Patterson Rushing; her husband, Roy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loyd & Mildred, Joe & Peggy, and Howell; and one sister, Mary Ruth Rushing.
She is survived by her son, David Austin; her niece, Karin Rushing Eason and husband, Danny Eason, and their children, Donna & John White, Dana & Adam Dunavant, and Daniel & Traci Eason; her nephew, Ronnie Rushing (Angie); and niece, Cathy Rushing Alexander and husband, Floyd Alexander, and their children, Tonya, Michael, Crystal, and Alan.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 PM, Friday, April 25, 2025 at Union Hill Cemetery in Reagan. The family will receive friends on Friday, 11 AM – 2 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill.
