Robbie Earl Conner, 73, of Shreveport, LA, passed away August 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Conner of Gordo, AL and Juanita Stevens of Shreveport, LA (Orvil J. Stevens), his brother, Leslie Ladale Conner, and his son, Shawn K. Conner.
Robbie attended Gordo High School and graduated in 1967. He retired after 22 years in the United States Air Force, and 20 years with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2013. He spent his remaining years enjoying time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and fishing. He passed his love of fishing along to his son, daughter, and son-in-law over the years.
Survivors include his daughter, Deni L. Mathews and her husband, Jeffrey S. Mathews, both of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Sean M. Blackburn, Robbie C. Blackburn, J. Daniel Mathews and wife, Alyssa Mathews, Mackenzie Mathews-McDonald and husband, R. Mitchell McDonald, and Caden S. Mathews; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Sheryl Phelps, of Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Church, 4114 Sand Springs Rd., Gordo, AL 35466.
