DECATUR-A robbery occurred on Friday, February 6, 2015 a suspect was identified and has since been extradited from Chicago back to Decatur.  Here is how the Decatur Police Department describe events:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On February 6, 2015 at 10:58 pm, Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a Robbery 1st Degree that occurred inside a residence in the 400 block of 6th Ave SW Decatur, AL 35601.
The victim, James Bentford told officers that a black male later identified as, 23-year-old Dwain Evans Turner Jr. robbed him at gunpoint taking his handgun and currency.
Det. Joshua Fisher with the Decatur Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit was assigned to the case.
During the investigation it was learned that Dwain fled the state of Alabama after the robbery.
On February 9, 2015 Det. Fisher obtained an arrest warrant for Dwain Turner Jr. for Robbery 1st Degree, a Class A felony.
On February 11, 2015 Dwain was arrested for the Robbery 1st Degree warrant by officers with the Chicago Police Department in Chicago, Illinois.
On March 8, 2015 Dwain was extradited to Decatur, AL. Dwain was charged and booked in for Robbery 1st Degree. He was then transferred to the Morgan County jail in lieu of a $200,000.00 bond set by Morgan County Judge Shelly Waters.”
