Rita Jane Childers, 82, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, peacefully at home. Visitation will be Sunday, April 6th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Mitchell Cemetery with Pat Driskell officiating. Pallbearers will be Collin Childers, Josh Childers, Colton Barnes, Noah Barnes, Scott Bratcher and William Ryan McDonald; honorary, Kameron King and Roger Parker.

Rita was a native of Anderson in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She was employed by and retired from Prestolite Electric, Inc. If you were to ask Rita what her proudest accomplishments were, she would undoubtedly say raising her three children. Her family and friends would describe her as a timeless, hardworking and devoted single mother who always prioritized the well being and happiness of her children. She constantly put her own needs aside to ensure her children were clothes, fed and, most importantly, filled with love and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert Doyle (Big Daddy) and Valeria Boyd (Granny) Ridgeway; her daughter, Lesia King; daughter-in-law, Kellie Deanna Childers; brothers, Tommy Ridgeway and Carl Ridgeway and sister-in-law, Beverly Ridgeway; sister, Vickie Robbins and brother-in-law, Dwain Robbins.

She is survived by her sons, David Lynn Childers (Donna) and Steven Dwain Childers (Brianna); grandchildren, Mindy Pennington, Josh Childers (Kirsty), Taylor Paige Bratcher (Scott), Collin Steve Childers, Kameron Blake King; Alexandra Bonabi (Phil) and William Ryan McDonald; great-grandchildren, Mia Quinn Childers, Greyson Lee Bonabi and Harper Blake Bonabi; sister, Dotti Moore (Rickey) and several special nieces and nephews.
