Rita Hughes died peacefully Saturday morning, with family, at the home of her sister Liz, in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
Born December 6,1959 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Frank E. Zocco and Rosemarie B. Zocco. Rosemarie and her children moved to Youngstown Ohio in 1970. Rita attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and then graduated from Ursuline High School in 1978. She opted for a career in cosmetology led by an obsession with hair color and style… often! Our Lord and Savior was not surprised to receive Rita sporting white hair delicately highlighted with lilac streaks.
In 2001, Rita moved to Tennessee embarking on a new career and life path. The road led to numerous positions (Hair, Restaurant Management, Customer Support). She was dedicated, hardworking and loyal. Whenever life through her a curve ball, she landed on her feet with a new and colorful hair style!
She was pre-deceased by her Father Frank E. Zocco and Sister Roseanne Zocco: survived by Husband David F. Hughes, Brentwood, TN, her Mother Rosemarie B. Zocco, Murfreesboro, TN, her Sisters Becky (Chuck) Rupprecht Mentor, Ohio, and Liz (Percy) Rucker Murfreesboro TN, brothers Mark (Jackie) Zocco of Scottsdale AZ and Chris (Tracy) Zocco of Rockvale, TN. One hundred and ten known relatives scattered throughout the country and all her dear friends.
