Rita Ellen Pulley Kauanoe, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 at the age of 59. Rita was born on May 21, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ernest Lee Pulley Sr. and Carolyn Faye Haygood. She was a beacon of love and strength, whose spirit touched the lives of many.
Rita is preceded in death by her cherished parents, Ernie Pulley and Carolyn Haygood, as well as her sister, Janet Roser, and brother, Robert Ferrell. She leaves behind a loving legacy, including her three devoted children: Kimberly Kauanoe (Marcus Hammonds), Carolyn Kauanoe, and Charles Rogers Jr. Rita’s heart was overflowing with love for her nine grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride and a long time special friend John Kauanoe.
Rita is survived by her two brothers and sister, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. Known for her warmth and compassion, Rita was a pillar of support for her family and friends. Her laughter and kindness will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Rita Ellen Pulley Kauanoe will be remembered as a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a friend who embraced life with open arms. May she rest in eternal peace.
