Rita Elaine Cramblit (Nordstrom) passed away the evening of August 18, 2024, one week after her 86th birthday, while surrounded by three of her children. Originally from Galesburg, Illinois, Rita had lived in Huntsville for almost 65 years.
She leaves behind two sisters, Linda Beary and Nancy West; four children, Jay Cramblit, Jeff Cramblit, Joe Cramblit and Shannon Norwood; two grandsons, Jason Cramblit and Jace McBride and one great grand, Shannon Cramblit.
Rita worked at several well-known Huntsville companies before her retirement, such as UAH, NASA, Teledyne Brown, Gryphon Technologies, and some places that are long gone in the history of Huntsville, such as Wyle Lab and Pizitz department store at Parkway City Mall. She loved to travel and had seen most of the United States and much of the Caribbean. Father Time and complications from falls and surgery finally took their toll on her.
A memorial gathering will be held at University Baptist Church, 809 Jordan Ln NW, Huntsville, AL 35816, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
