Rita Carol Bone, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the age of 63 due to a lengthy illness.
Rita Carol, as she was fondly known, was born on May 7, 1960, at home in Huntsville, Alabama to Robert Bone Sr. and Susie Hereford Bone. She grew up alongside her siblings, whom she acted like a mother to. She attended J.O. Johnson High School and then went to Alabama A.& M. University, where she graduated with a degree in Business Management.
Rita was always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. Her was personality, infectious smile, and generous heart made her an instant favorite among all who knew her. She had a passion for cooking, which she shared with her family and friends.
Despite facing many challenges in her life, Rita remained resilient and persevered through it all. She was a fighter till the end and her unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to us all.
We will miss her dearly, but take comfort in the fact that she is now in a better place free from pain and suffering. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Rita was preceded in death by her father Robert Bone Sr., her nephew, Dezmon Bone Sr. Her maternal grandparents, Walter and Geneva Hereford and her paternal grand-parents, John Bone and Annie Stone Bone.
She is survived by her mother, Susie Hereford Bone. Her three children, Kuricheses Bone Alexander (Dante) and granddaughter Paris Alexander; daughter Nwamaka Nwosu and her son, Rodriequez Nwosu (Lhovely) and grandsons Jasper, Julius and Jaxon. Her six siblings, Lisa Bone Wike, Robert Bone Jr., Natalie Bone Houston, Eric Bone, Terrell Bone, and Sheree Bone (Deon) King, one Aunt, Lucille Bone King (AKA “Tut”) and a great aunt, Frances Baker Pinchon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Terrence Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, and 8:30 until 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
