Rita Ann Thomas Dorman, 58, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born October 29, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, to Bobby and Emogene Gillentine Thrasher. She worked at Rockwell International before becoming disabled. She was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, hummingbirds, and talking with her friends and family. She especially loved her dog Binky.
Services will be at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the Ozark Baptist Church with Bro. Dempsey Rowland and Bro. Douglas Kitchens officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Danny M. Dorman, of Marietta; her mother, Emogene Sanneman of Fulton; one son, Jamie “Bugz” Thomas of Marietta; one step-daughter, Tabitha O’Bannon (fiance Greg Wilson) of Atlanta, GA; one step-son, Matthew O’Bannon (Courtney) of Athens, GA; two brothers, Barry Thrasher (Connie) of Mantachie and Robert Thrasher of Marietta; one sister, Cindy Baker of Southaven; six grandchildren, Ollie O’Bannon, John Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Shauna Wilburn, Matt Wilburn, and Rachael Wilburn; one great-granddaughter, Isabelle “Izzy” Bennett; a special sister-in-law, Debbie Dorman Thompson, of Saltillo; and two special friends, Linda Hendrix of Saltillo and Judy Sheffield of Mantachie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Thomas, in 1990; her father, Bobby Thrasher; and her grandparents, Voy and Verna Gillentine and Henry and Mattie Thrasher.
Pallbearers will be Danny Sheffield, Matt Wilburn, Derek Sheffield, Brent Kitchens, Mike Langley, and Rusty Curry.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday and from 7 a. m. until 11 a. m. Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie and from noon until service time at Ozark Baptist Church.
