Ricky Murrell, 68, of Florence, AL, went to his heavenly home on January 10, 2023, at the University of Alabama Birmingham hospital. He enjoyed life and simply just having a fun time, he loved a fast motorcycle or car and especially his horse riding adventures. A good western or a wrestling match was his television go-to.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand and could fix anything or make it work somehow. He was a diesel mechanic and was a master at repairing appliances. He drove a truck for Loretto Casket Company and worked as a parts manager for Purcell Chrysler. Rick is a Christian and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Rick answered to many titles, but he was most proud to be Pawpaw Murrell to Kayla Floyd, husband Hayden, and children Emmaline, Samuel, and Sylis.
Ricky was born in Florence, AL on January 30, 1954, to Ralph and Betty Murrell. His siblings are Pat Barnett (Jimmy) Saint Joseph; Tim Murrell (Beth), Loretto; and Cyndi Shults (Tony) Loretto. Other family includes Pam Cromwell, Ricky Hardwick, Joseph Hardwick, Tanner Cromwell, and Carly Chaney (Gatlin). He has several special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was especially close to his Uncle J.C. Barnett. He leaves many neighbors and friends to celebrate his life and memories.
