Ricky Howell DeFoor age 73 of Sumiton, passed away Sunday Nov. 22, 2020. He attended Dilworth Church of God for over fifty years. He was retired from Jim Walter Resources-Brookwood Mines No. 7.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Nov. 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Nelson Kimberly and Rev, Jerry Trotter will officiate. Burial will follow at Dilworth Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Allen De Foor; father, Byron “Red:” DeFoor; mother, Gertha DeFoor; stepmother, Margie Teer and brother, Paul Teer.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pegi DeFoor; daughter, Vikki Roberts (Bruce); grandchildren, Derrick DeFoor (Serena), Andrew DeFoor (Megan), Zach Roberts (Anna) and Noah Roberts (Gracie); great grandchildren, Lexi DeFoor, Brantley DeFoor, Brantley Sanford, Mason DeFoor and Chloe DeFoor; sisters, Carolyn Crow and Kathy Rector (Sherman); brother, Kenny DeFoor; several other relatives and many friends.
