Rickey Lee Smith, 57, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. Rickey was born on October 12, 1966, in Pontotoc, MS, to James Floyd and Minnie Lou Priest Smith. He enjoyed fishing and joking with his family and close friends. Rickey had many jobs and had worked as a DirecTV installer until an injury forced him to retire early.
Survivors include his 4 children, Jerry Patton (Candy), Rickey Smith II (Rachel), Vincent Buford (Britni), and Sarah Lacey; his brothers, Dewey Virgil Smith and Anthony Smith; his sisters, Sue Smith, Anna Smith, and Joyce Smith; his grandchildren, Rosie Beckum, Dayna Patton, Jerry Patton II, Harleigh Patton, Suzanna Smith, Brianna Patton, Brennan Lacey, Treya Smith, Abel Shoemaker, Wade Smith, and Colton Smith; and his great-grandchild, Evelyn Beckum.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Darlene Patton “Patti” Smith; and his brothers, David Smith and Jerry Smith.
Services will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Lynn Hughes officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Skuna Valley Cemetery in Houlka.
Pallbearers will be Earl Collins, Anthony Smith, Jerry Allen “Pete” Patton, Rickey Lee Smith, II, Vincent Allen Buford, and Jerry Allen “JP” Patton.
