Rickey Lee May, Sr., age 73, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on August 2, 2024. Born on September 2, 1950, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, Rickey served in the US Army and was a dedicated member of the Baptist faith.

Rickey was the proud owner and operator of Les Caterers in Florida, where he became renowned for his exceptional event planning. His catering expertise brought joy to countless corporate parties, Super Bowl celebrations, and even events for past U.S. Presidents. Outside of work, Rickey cherished spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Pop Pops,” he delighted in playing dolls, pulling playful tricks, and dancing with them.

Rickey is survived by his son, Rickey Lee May, Jr., and his wife Melissa of St. Augustine, FL; his grandchildren, Aria and Columbia May; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Calvin May and Oma Lee Shelton May; his brothers, Jimmy May, Paul May, Bobby May; and his sisters, Reba Kimbrough and Geraldine Snyder.

A private family service was held with interment at Lincoln Cemetery in Fayetteville, TN. Arrangements were entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home.
