Mr. Rickey David Smotherman passed away on Friday. He was 63. Mr. Smotherman was raised and lived most of his life in the Hazel Green community.
Rickey had a great sense of humor, loved to cut-up and was never serious. He loved his family very much, especially his nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Earl Smotherman; His mother, Evelyn Louise Smotherman; His brother, Bob Smotherman; His nephew, Timothy de la Torres.
Surviving family members include his sister, Peggy (Daniel) de la Torres; and his brother, Joe (Susan) Smotherman. His sister, Grapy (Aaron) Hovis; His brother, Roger Smotheman; His brother, Ezra Smotherman; His nieces: Cindy Powers, DeeDee Grimes, Jody Grimes, Kasey Lewis; His nephew, Chris Smotherman. He is also survived by many friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 12 Noon at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor John Dees officiating. The family will have a private burial at Charity Cemetery.
