Rick StephensRick Stephens, age 63, of Petersburg, Tennessee, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Vanderbilt Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Rick was born June 1, 1960, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Claude and Sue Turner Stephens. He was employed by Schwan Cosmetics in Murfreesboro as a machinist. Rick truly enjoyed his work and even in his spare time, he would be working on some metal fabrication or welding. He spent many happy days in Jamestown, TN, farming and spending time with family and friends. Rick was just recently sworn in as Alderman for the town of Petersburg and was looking forward to serving the community and people he cared for so much. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Sue Stephens and his grandparents, Odell and Pansy Stephens.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Wells Stephens of Petersburg; four sons, Ryan (Kim) Stephens of Eaton, Indiana, Rhett (Ainsley) Stephens of Spring Hill, Rhye (Nicole) Stephens of Lewisburg, and Rhad (Virginia) Stephens of Lewisburg; daughter, Amanda (Jason) Thompson of Muncie, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brendan and Daden Thompson, Michael Stephens, Payton Stephens, Colton Yoder, and Jackson Stephens; two sisters, Sheila Kalley of Muncie, IN, and Vickie McMillin of Smyrna; several nieces, nephews and cousins; father and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Deborah Brown of Petersburg; brother and sister-in-law, Melisa and Jeff Hopkins of Taft, and brother-in-law, Chase Brown of Petersburg.

Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A private family graveside service will be held in Jamestown at a later date.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
