Richard Wayne Dunaway, 60, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Aurora Health and Rehab in Columbus. Born in Lee County on November 26, 1964, he was a son to Rex Wayne Dunaway and Betty Jean Wilson Johnson. He grew up in Mooreville and he was Baptist. His hobbies included listening to music, old cars, and watching wrestling. He was an avid cat and dog lover, especially his dog, Goober.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. James Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Sartor Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Dunaway of the Westville Community; mother, Betty Jean Johnson of Shannon; two sons, Trent Dunaway of the Home and Dustin Wright of Columbus; one daughter, Shannon Lowe (Dexter) of Starkville; one brother, Robert Dunaway of Shannon; one sister, Teresa Lynn Gray of Mooreville; and two grandchildren, Jonah Lowe and Grace Pope.
He was preceded in death by his father; and by his grandparents, Elvie and Leola Dunaway and Herman and Hattie Wilson.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Law, Robert Dunaway, Trent Dunaway, Herman Wilson, Johnny Law, and Joey Boyd.
