Richard W. Salmon, age 86, of Erie, formerly of Syracuse, New York and Toney, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday January 23, 2024, of natural causes at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. He was born in Greig, NY on September 20, 1937, a son of the late Melville and Rose (Winter) Salmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara J. Salmon in 2021.
Richard retired from Country Folks Magazine, where he enjoyed being a salesman. He was an avid Syracuse sports fan and loved animals.
He is survived by his children, David (Amanda) Phillips of Erie, PA, Richard L. Salmon, Lori L. Connors, Victoria A. (Chad) Galek and Edward (Kim) Phillips. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
