Richard U. Handley – Obituary

Richard U. Handley, 79, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Generations of Red Bay. He was born March 25, 1933 in Colbert County, Al. and was an escort driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. Brian Weems officiating.  Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are four children – Susan Pugh, William Alvin Handley and Charles Allen Handley, all of Red Bay, Al. and Janice Lynch (David) Dennis, Ms.; one sister – Edna Smith, Tuscumbia, Al.; six grandchildren – Adam Lynch, Melissa Gonzales (Alex), Bobby Handley, Sean Martin, Regina Vessey (Sean) and Tamera Keller (Nathan) and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Handley, a son, Jerry Handley, his parents, William Albert Handley and Susan Thorn Handley and three brothers.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, August 10, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. and until service time on Saturday.
