Richard Michael Svarney, age 43, of Decatur passed away September 1, 2013. Born in Binghamton, N.Y. on November 23, 1969. He is survived by his parents, Joanne Svarney and Richard Svarney; brothers, Daniel Svarney (Jessica) and Andy (Anna) Svarney. Also nephews, Andrew, Dylan and Ayden. Rick also had two sisters in Harpursville, N.Y. with his natural father, Richard Townsend (Loreena); Katrina and Heather.
Ricky enjoyed writing music and singing. He recorded in Nashville, Tenn. He was an avid Eagles fan and loved watching football with his brothers and friends. He was also a Fraternal Order of Eagles member for seven years and helped the Ladies Auxiliary with many of their charity events. Ricky attended chef school at Atlantic Community College in Mays Landing, N.J. He loved cooking and hoped to have his own restaurant one day.
He will be missed by friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
