Richard Lonnie Burks, Sr. passed away Friday evening, December 25, 2020, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Lawrenceburg. He was born on January 21st, 1931 in Giles County and was 89 years old.
Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Fafnir Bearing where he was a machinist. He was a member of the Second Street Church of Christ for over 64 years. Lonnie was a gunsmith who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and working in his yard.
Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00am Thursday, December 31, 2020, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Jenkins and Bro. mark Johnson officiating.
The burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Second Street Church of Christ c/o 300 North 2nd Street Pulaski, TN 38478 or to the charity of your choice.
He is preceded in death by his wife Maba Nell Felker Burks along with his parents Jodie and Mary Pratt Burks.
He is survived by his son Ricky Burks of Pulaski.
Numerous friends also survive.
