Mr. Richard Lee Carnal, 83 of Florence, formerly of Muncie, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at ECM Hospital after a brief illness. He owned Ceramic Tile and Carpet INC. in Muncie, Indiana for more than 40 years and was member of Eden Church in Muncie. He and his wife Betty moved to Florence in 2009 to be near their daughter Janet and her family. Richard loved the Lord, was a devoted husband and caring and supportive father. He believed in the power of faith, education and hard work. He set an example for all who knew him of intelligence, integrity, strength and kindness. He attended Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. at Meeks Mortuary in Muncie, IN. The funeral service will be Monday, August 6, 2012 at 12 Noon at Eden Church, Muncie with burial to follow in the Gardens of Memory. Officiating will be Ed Allen.
Mr. Carnal is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Cloe Carnal, brother, Harwood Carnal and a daughter, Peggy Carnal Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Hutson Carnal of Florence, daughter, Dr. Janet McMullen(Randy) of Florence, brother, Major Carnal of Hopkinsville, KY., sister, Ann Burkowski of Mishawaka, IN., grandchildren, Corey and Christopher McMullen, great grandchild, Khloey McMullen, and step-great grandchildren, Cayla and Ashley Williams.
Pallbearers will be Ed Livingston, Joe Russell, Paul Russell, Randy McMullen, Corey McMullen, Christopher McMullen, and Allan Johnson.
