Richard L. McDonald Richard L. McDonald, 72, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Helen Keller Hospital. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company, Brookpark, Ohio. He was a previous Elder and Deacon at Oliver Church of Christ, a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and VFW.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 11 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel with David O’Connell and Brandon Britton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Church of Christ with military honors. Pallbearers will be Jim Surratt, Dylan Surratt, Mason Fuqua, Logan Fuqua, Wade Stinnett, Salina Surratt and Kayla Surratt.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin & Ollie McDonald; four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie McDonald; daughters, Salina (Jim) Surratt and Rhonda (Mason) Fuqua; grandchildren, Kayla Surratt, Dylan Surratt and Logan Fuqua; brother, Carl (Frances) McDonald; faithful, furry companions, Cash & Cooper; numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard loved his family dearly and will be missed by all.
