Richard Herndon Carter, 45, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Aug. 12, 2012.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, in the chapel, with burial to follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating are Brother Greg Woodall and Brother Terry Herndon.
Survivors include his wife of 19 wonderful years, Sheila Carter; parents, Truman and Linda Carter and Jo and Leroy Howard; son, Mason H. Carter; brother, Truman Carter II; sisters, Rhonda Sloan (Bobby) and Debra Kuykendall (John); a host of loving nieces, nephews, two uncles, two aunts, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are Jim Grinnell, Arlin Woodall, Terry Holcomb, J.B. Kuykendall, Scott Carter and Tony Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Nichols, Dennis Herndon, Larry Herndon, Steve Johnson, Ken Ausborn and Phil Herndon.
Mr. Carter was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Bear Creek, Ala.
He graduated from Samford University and Birmingham School of Law with a doctrine degree.
