It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Eugene Hutson, 60 of Cullman, shares that Richard passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019. Richard was born in Cullman to Doyle Eugene and Shirley Barbee Hutson, and was raised working on the farm. In High School he played football and other sports. After graduation he joined the Marines and served as a helicopter crew chief. His crew served in several rescue missions. He loved guns and has been a collector for many years. He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, singing, fishing and traveling in his r.v. After his wife; Cathy Harper Hutson, passed away, he moved to Florida to be close to the beach. His three grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved them dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Brian (Kerry) Hutson; grandchildren: Devin Cason, Channing Hutson and Lily Hutson; sister, Sheri Taylor and fiancé, Diane Colby. His family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Moss Service Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
