Mr. Richard Edwin West, age 66, of Arab, Alabama passed away June 11, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital in Madison County, AL. Mr. West was born July 10, 1956 in Tennessee. His parents were Daniel E. West and Corene Blackmon West. Richard worked as a quality control supervisor during his active career before retirement. He was a dedicated Christian and attended the 12th Avenue Church of God along with Desperation Church in Cullman, AL.
Richard was extremely family orientated. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. He was a very enthusiastic supporter of all their activities, especially their various sporting events. Richard was a huge fan of any Barber Motor Sporting event. He was considered by most to be a “Master Mechanic” and his family knew there was nothing he couldn’t fix or repair. He also found plenty of time to help out on the family farm. Richard was outgoing and charismatic, he never met a stranger. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was an advocate for Jesus and was on fire for the Lord.
Family members left to cherish and treasure memories of Richard include; his son and daughter-in-law, Colby and Lindsay West; his daughter, LaSha West; his grandchildren, Mollie Hanners, Jaycee Jayne Caldwell, Presley Venus, Ty Thompson, Bentlee Tate West and Collins West; and his brother, Gary West.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, Daniel and Corene West.
A visitation with family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the 12th Avenue Church of God. A Memorial/Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers please contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
