He was the son of the late Johnnie Richard and Thelma Grantham Luttman, was reared in the Middleton and Roger Springs communities of Hardeman County and attended school there. He married the former Earline Davis on June 18, 1948 and, at that time, moved to Memphis where the family lived for several years. Mr. Luttman eventually settled in Iuka, MS. There, they lived for 35-40 years.
Mr. Luttman was a heavy equipment operator who worked for TVA for 18 years and also was involved in helping construct interstate highways. A long-time member of the Iuka church of Christ, he loved his church and served as an elder there for many years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working around the house with various construction projects. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and quail hunting.
He leaves a daughter, Joyce Brazzle (Rex) of Lexington; a son, David Luttman (Laura) of Mt. Juliet, TN; a sister, Melinda Winslow (Don) of Lexington; a brother, Ronnie Luttman of Cabot, AR; three grandchildren, Michael Spencer of Lexington, Rachel Ferri (Mike) of Lexington and, Clint Luttman (Dressa) of Shelbyville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Logan Parrish, Abby Umstead and Lannah Ferri; and three step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Earline Luttman; and one brother, Bob Luttman.
