Richard Duane Campbell passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, August 29, 2022 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Rick was born to Bernard “Dazy” and Norma “Muz” Campbell on April 14,1963 in Memphis, TN.
Rick was a Professional Land Surveyor and spent much of his life committed to his career until he was diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2017. Rick was known to be a loving, kind and devoted husband, father and “Poppy”. Rick was a dedicated member of The Harbour Church in Meridianville and loved God fiercely.
Rick married the love of his life, Vonda Campbell, on April 25,1989. They had a beautiful life together raising their children Rob Wilcox, Sean Campbell, Jennie (Wilcox) Walter and Taylor (Campbell) Crumby. Rick is also survived by his daughters-in-law Holly Wilcox, Rachael Campbell and sons-in-law Michael Walter, and Garrett Crumby. Rick was deeply loved and cherished by his many grandchildren: Evin, Ethan, Trenton, Liam and Kade Wilcox, Collin and Carlie Campbell, Micah Walter and Q’Zora Drake-Walter.
Rick is also survived by his father Bernard Campbell and sisters Janet Humphries and Cindy Sanders.
There will be a receiving of family and friends at Hazel Green Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 with a memorial to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rick’s church.
