Ricky was born April 16, 1954, to the late James Leon and Reva Tucker Elliott. Ricky retired from a 37-year career with Rogers Group, Inc several years ago. In his retirement, Rick found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of rural life. He could often be found sitting on his porch overlooking his farm and animals. If he was at home, you could bet Gunsmoke or Wagon Train was on at least one TV. An accidental meeting on the way to their homecoming parade, led to a marriage to the love of his life, Debbie, that lasted a lifetime, 51 years. His wisdom was as deep as his roots. Ricky had a genuine love of people. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t yet made. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for trading and bartering. Whether it was striking a deal or swapping stories or jokes, Ricky found joy in just connecting with others. His knack for negotiation was matched only by his generosity always willing to help anyone at any time. To those who knew him, Ricky will be remembered for his sense of humor. His humor was as endless as his kindness. He had the ability to lighten any room and he simply brightened the lives of anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He had a talent for corny jokes and was a masterful practical joker. His antics brought joy to his friends and family over the years. One cannot try to summarize the life of Ricky Elliott without mentioning his hair. He was legendary. . .No matter where he went, he was admired for his soft, thick and curly hair. Complete strangers would literally ask him to touch his hair until even his last days. Years ago, his closest buddies referred to him simply as, “Fuzz”. To his family, Ricky was the pillar of strength and perseverance A man of strong character, he believed in always doing what was right and fair. His integrity was unwavering and to be admired. His greatest gift was his love for his family. Ricky leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter and love that is as colorful as his personality.
