Richard Clarence Smith, age 81, passed away April 27, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, from noon until 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a retired fireman with the City of Florence and also worked as a recording engineer at Woodrich Studio in Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Williams Smith; brother, Jimmy Smith; and great-grandchild, Seth Alexander Davis. He is survived by his children, Marty Ray Smith, Myra Smith White (Ron), and Sherry Smith White (Mike); grandchildren, Jon, Leah, Brad, Amanda, and Ronnica; great-grandchildren, Nick, Savannah, Andrew, Caleb, Charli, Willow, Rylan, and Ally Jo; great-great-grandchild, Faithly; brother, Tommy Smith; and sister, Betty Sharp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Underwood-Petersville Volunteer Fire Department.
