Richard Carl "Rusty" BeckLTC (Ret) Richard C. (Rusty) Beck, age 79 and formerly of Dothan, AL., died Thursday October 10, 2024 at home after a brief illness. Rusty was born July 5, 1945, in Bradenton, FL.

He was a resident of Wellington for the past forty years. He received his high school diploma from Manatee High School, his undergraduate degree from Wake Forrest University, and his graduate degree from Troy University. He served in the United States Army as a US Army Helicopter Instructor Pilot and flew with the 2/17th Calvary, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam in 1970. He was a Mason, a Shriner and the immediate Most Worshipful Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of F&AM of Alabama 2022-2023.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn H. Beck and his son Jason J. Beck. Survivors include his sister Linda Burton of Cashiers NC, daughter Sheila (Troy) Barnes, and two sons: MAJ (Ret) Clayton (Marykaren) Cox, Rusty Beck II, all of Wellington, AL.; three grandchildren: Troy (Tracy) Barnes, Jr. of Wellington, Morgan Cox (Blake) Jennings of Pleasant Valley, AL., Gabriel Cox of Wellington; three great grandchildren: Ethan Barnes, Eli Barnes and Miles Jennings.

A Masonic Funeral Service for Rusty and Carolyn will be held on October 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Location: Glencoe Masonic Lodge 205 E. Main St., Glencoe, AL. 35905.
Burial will be at the Alabama National Cemetery located in Montevallo, AL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Rusty or Carolyn Beck.
