Rhonda Marie Larkin, age 76 of Huntland, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on January 7, 2024. Rhonda was born in Winchester on March 11, 1947. She grew up in Huntland and graduated from Huntland High School in 1965. Rhonda then attended the Alabama College of Commerce. Upon graduation, she worked for the Huntsville Police Department and then transferred to the Madison County Probate Judge’s Office, where she worked for thirty-eight years as a recording secretary, assistant chief clerk, and Madison County Archivist. Rhonda was active in Daughter’s of the American Revolution, serving as Regent and Chaplain. She served as president of the Madison County Historical Society and the Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society. She loved her family, friends, and community, but most of all she loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. Rhonda is survived by her son, John Hunt of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, David (Cherry) Larkin of Beech Grove; sister, Donna Dodson of Huntsville; nieces and nephews, Dana Larkin (Trey) Gross of Tyler, Texas, Adam (Ellen) Larkin of Franklin, Tennessee, Jennifer (Rod) Seymour of Toney, Alabama, and Sheldon Dodson (fiancée, Cheryl) of Huntsville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Sophie Larkin of Knoxville, Sarah Snowden of Toney, Alabama, Alexandria Seymour of Huntsville, Alabama, Jordan Seymour of Decatur, Alabama, and Eva Lauren of Huntsville; and many beloved cousins. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
