Rhonda Dahlhauser was born on February 15, 1961 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. She was a resident of Mooresville Pike, Columbia, TN, and died at her home on Friday, May 8, 2020. She was 59 years old.
The family would like to offer the opportunity for friends and family to come by Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home Wednesday between 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. to pay respects to Mrs. Dahlhauser. A private family graveside service will be held at Wilkes Cemetery with Father Mark Beckman officiating. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rhonda was the daughter of Air Force veteran Chief Master Sergeant Paul Alfred Meservy, and Elizabeth Carolyn ”Moonie” Meservy. In her younger years, she traveled the world to different Air Force Bases in Gaum, Japan and England. Even though the travel was when she was very young, she still vividly remembered the countries and people she met along the way.
Her stay in England gave her a lifelong interest in the Royal family and England, where she would read books and follow along on television and movies. An avid reader and wonderful mother, she raised three beautiful children. Rhonda, a homemaker, always believed that her staying at home to raise her children was the reason they grew into the outstanding and reverent adults that they are today. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and they loved her dearly.
Always the hospitable Southern woman, Rhonda would welcome friends and strangers alike into her home. She was known for her open and loving heart.
After her children moved out, she worked at Stoneybrook Golf Course and enjoyed her time socializing with the rabbit chasers. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School, Class of 1979.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Stephen Michael Dahlhauser; daughter, Taylor (James) Britt; sons, Matthew Wilkes Dahlhauser, Samuel Davis Dahlhauser; grandchildren, Henry and Harper Britt; sister, Terry (Paul) Yielding; brother, Steve (Martha) Meservy; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chief Master Sgt. Paul Alfred Meservy and Elizabeth Carolyn “Moonie” Meservy; grandparents, Jim and Reedy Murphy, Paul Meservy Sr., and Mary Rose Meservy.
