Rheba Nell Hester Kimbrough, 86, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Dwight Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
Nell was a member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church and a retired social worker with Alabama Department of Human Resources. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Daniel Kimbrough; parents, Loy and Velma Hester; brothers, Doyle Hester and J.L. Hester; and sisters, Almaree Byrd and Becky Wright.
Nell is survived by her daughter, Rheba Kimbrough, Sandy Peeples, and Sonya Clark (Heath); grandchildren, Hester Burdett, Jonathon Sparks, Ashley Witt, Mark Alan Peeples, and Joel-David Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Mackinze Burdett, Noah Koontz, Hannah Sparks, Madisyn Fuqua, Justis Sparks, Nova Sparks, Adalind Koontz, and Finley Hodges; special friend, Bernice Isom; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Sparks, Mark Alan Peeples, Joel-David Gilbert, Noah Koontz, Ricky Burdett, and Heath Clark.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of North Alabama Hospice of the Shoals, especially Madeline, Kyleigh, Katlyn, Heather, Alana, and Loralee.
