Repairs Begin on Parkway Bridge over Tennessee River

29795E60-1DD8-B71C-07E392F7BA76F66E-largeCOLBERT COUNTY –   Natchez Trace Parkway officials announce that repairs to the John Coffee Memorial Bridge over the Tennessee River in Colbert and Lauderdale Counties in Alabama (milepost 328), started this week.

 

The work will be completed in two projects by separate contractors from Atlantic Icon Corporation and Sierra Building Systems. The first phase includes spot replacement of deteriorated concrete and repairs to expansion joints on the bridge deck by Atlantic Icon Corporation during the summer of 2016. Immediately following, Sierra Building Systems will paint the structural steel and bridge rails during the second phase of the project. Work is expected to be completed by late fall 2016.

 

While the projects are underway, traffic will be limited to one lane with traffic signals to direct motorists. Visitors are encouraged to use caution while driving through the construction zone.
