Rennie Vivian Hester – Obituary

vivianRennie Vivian Hester, 99, died Monday, May 05, 2014 at the Golden Living Center. She was born January 25, 1915 in Pontotoc County to Isom and Minnie Holcomb. A longtime resident of the Furrs community, she was a member of Furrs Baptist Church and worked taking care of her family as a homemaker. She was the widow of Elvie S. Hester whom she married on October 20, 1928. They shared 51 years together.
Services will be 10 am Wednesday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Carter and Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Furrs Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Vonda Maynard (Billy) of Furrs; one granddaughter, Carla Rea (Ricky); one grandson, Mike Hester; and one great-grandson, Michael Hester (Monica); one great-great-granddaughter, Peyton Kinnley Hester; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Talmadge Hester (Bonnie); five sisters, Flora Buchanan, Lora Kennedy, Floy Kennedy, Ethel Frost, and Pauline Hester Stegall; and one brother, Raymond Holcomb.

Pallbearers will be Randy Todd, Brent Todd, Larry Frederick, Mark Webb, Billy Wayne Dillard, and Byron Kennedy.
