Renee Elaine (Honadel) Buhmann of Huntsville, AL, passed away September 1, 2024. She was born a twin on December 7, 1933, to Elroy Oscar and Lorraine Marie Honadel of Oak Creek, WI, where she grew up on the family apple orchard. She met her soul mate, Gene, and they eloped on August 15, 1953.
She and Gene settled in Huntsville where her husband worked for NASA after leaving the Army. Renee had a long career as a veterinary technician for Apollo Animal Hospital. She enjoyed riding her horse, Rocky, and traveling.
Renee was an early member of the Huntsville Unitarian Universalist Church and enjoyed social adventures with the Safari Club. She was a strong, beautiful woman and will be greatly missed.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Vernon Honadel, and her husband, Eugene Joseph Buhmann.
Survivors include her children, Eugene Kirk Buhmann and Kristie Ann French (Laurence); granddaughter, Logan Renee French; and her remaining siblings, LaVaughn (Honadel) Zeisse and Elroy Honadel (Nancy) and their families.
No service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local animal shelter.
