Rena Mae Brown, 89 of Toney, Alabama died on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at her home.
Born Saturday, August 25, 1923 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Brown and the late Connie Phillips Brown. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Charles Wayne Buck Brown, a granddaughter: Lorrie Sanders Thomas, and four brothers: James, John, Bill, and Joe Brown.
Surviving are son, Vernon (Gilda) Brown of Ardmore, AL, daughter, Norma Brown of Toney, AL, sisters, Joy (Dan) Bagsby of Toney, AL and Margie Grimes of Spring Hill, TN, daughter-in-law: Vickie Brown, sisters-in-laws: Tilda Brown of Athens, AL, and Peggy Richardson of Taft, TN; four grandchildren: Shawn Lewis, Chuck Brown, Angela Walker, and Becky Thomas, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Dr. Ray Stonecypher officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
