Rena Ann Stone (Arias), 57, beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), daughter, and sister of Meridianville, Alabama passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Huntsville, AL on October 2nd, 2024.
Rena was born in Hammond, Indiana to Joseph and Susan Arias on August 13th, 1967. She was a Soldier in the US Army before embarking on a long career in the service industry as a manager for several restaurants over the years.
Rena dearly loved her family and friends. Married to her husband Graham for 28 years, she was a loving mother to 6 children and Nana to 8 wonderful grandchildren. She was most happy when hosting large gatherings for both family and friends. Affectionately called “Mama Stone” by her children’s friends and her employees, she was always ready to listen, give advice, and help those around her. As an Army wife, when families saw their Soldier deployed overseas, they would be welcomed into her home for holiday celebrations and made part of the family. Cooking was her passion, and she became known for large holiday dinner parties, tamale parties, and her annual Cinco De Mayo party for which she would prepare all her own Mexican dishes from scratch, often to serve upwards of 100 people.
Rena is survived by her husband Graham; 5 children, Ryan (Jazmine), Andrew (Cathy), Kaitlin (Colin) , Ashley (Jimmy), and Matthew; 8 grandchildren, Joseph, Sophia, Junior, Gabriel, Emilio, Victoria, Isabella and Alexander; her mother, Susan; sister, Lisa (Terry); and brother, Joseph (Diane). She was preceded in death by her daughter Danielle and father Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave. Huntsville, Al 35805 on October 12th, 2024. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm followed by the funeral service at 3 pm. Interment will be a private family service in Indiana at a later date.
