Reginald Franklin BrownReginald Franklin Brown, known by all as “Buddy,” passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loved ones on June 4, 2024.

Born on September 2, 1937 in Tallapoosa County Alabama to Ovie Brown and Edna Patton Brown. Buddy was one of ten siblings. His early years were spent in Tallapoosa County working on his famiy farm, later moving to Texas where he spent many years working on oil rigs. If you ever talked to him you’ve heard the stories of Texas and the oil rigs. He eventually settled back in Alabama, where he found his passion in construction, fishing, and gardening

Buddy loved the outdoors and being out “loafing.” He was passionate about his kids and adored his grandchildren. He would light up at the mention of their names. Buddy loved his family and times spent at the creek.

Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Laura Brown, his six children, Cindy Brown, Tammi (Darin) Carr, Cindy (Wyatt) Dunsieth, Ronnie (Khara) Brown, Tracy (Gene) Hill, and Reggie Brown. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Kristy Bahnmiller, Brandy (Rodney) Dunaway, Lori (Ben) Patterson, Andy (Ashley) Carr, Megan (Jace) Harper, Amber Dunsieth, Patrick (Taylor) Carr, Joanie (Spencer) Morris, Coty (Ashley) Williams, Ryan Brown, Kyle (Katie) Williams, Hailee Brown, Abbey (Kasey) Henderson, Jacob Walker, Matthew Porter, Sarah Brown; his siblings, Devota Patterson and Paul Brown and 17 great-grand children.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Ovie Brown and Edna Patton Brown, his daughter, Shelia Bailey; his three sons, Timothy Brown, Kenny Brown, and Dewy Brown; also his grandchildren, Frankie Williams, Cash Brown, and Addison Williams.

A graveside service for Reginald Brown will be determined at a later date, Dr. Josh Sammons. will be officiating.
