Redith Johnson Sowell was born September 27, 1934 in Vinnie, KY, the daughter of the late George and Mary Etta Barns Johnson.
She was united in marriage to Wayne Edward Sowell on December 28, 1948 in Somerset, KY. Mr. Sowell preceded her in death on March 15, 1974.
Mrs. Sowell departed this life on February 14, 2015 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Velvia Jane Morgan and husband Rickie of Bethel Springs, TN; a sister, Edith McClendon; 11 Grandchildren: Tina Stephens, William Stewart, Patty Hunley, Trish Hicks, Billy Correll, Kevin Sowell, Allen Sowell,Tammy Morgan, Roy Sowell, Vickie McKee, and Toni Morgan, 19 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sowell was preceded in death by a daughter, Merna Loy Brown; a son, Elvin Roy Sowell; a brother, Johnny Johnson; a granddaughter, Rebecca Gail Sowell.
