John Howard Scott
RED BAY-On Tuesday, November 8, Red Bay Police arrested John Scott Howard, 26 on allegations of rape of a child under the age of 14. According to officials with the Red Bay Police Scott was arrested and taken to the Red Bay jail on Tuesday. He was later booked into the Franklin County Detention Center on a $2000,000 bond.
According to the Red Bay Police Chief, Janna Jackson a family member reported the crime after taking the girl to the hospital for examination. Hospital officials notified police after the examination.
The victim told authorities the sexual events began around the end of October of this year. Chief Jackson said after questioning Scott, he confessed to authorities his guilt in the matter.
Scott has been charged with three counts of Rape 1st Degree, two counts of Sodomy 1st Degree and on count of Sexual Abuse.
