Rebecca Wilson Gamble, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the age of 54, on her second wedding anniversary. Her visitation will be Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Funeral service will be Monday, October 15, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Josh Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Rebecca was a native of Magnolia, Arkansas and moved to the Shoals area in 1966. She was a graduate of Deshler High School Class of 1982. Rebecca was a registered nurse and worked at Shoals Hospital for the past 17 years where she made a great impact on the community. She made many lifelong friendships with coworkers, her patients and their families. She was the proud mother and her five granddaughters were her greatest joys. After 14 years of friendship she found the love of her life in Wes Gamble. Her last three years were some of her happiest. She found her soulmate and they gave each other the world. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her smile will never be forgotten.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Wilson of Tuscumbia.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wes Gamble of Sheffield; mother, Vivian Shiver Wilson of Sheffield; son, Matthew Wimberly (Laura) of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Amy Wimberly Newsom (Jason) of Saint Augustine, Florida; sisters, Sue Williams (Ron) of Franklin, Tennessee, and Allison McWilliams (Danny) of Tuscumbia; five grandchildren, Jasmyn, Jayda and Jordyn Newsom and McKarlie and Lucie Wimberly; and nieces and nephews, Lauren Poteet (Mack) and Ronald Blake Williams, both of Franklin, Tennessee, and Abby and Trey McWilliams of Tuscumbia.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Wimberly, Jason Newsom, Trey McWilliams, Todd Bohannon, Bill Hatton, John Hyde, Josh Jordan and Chase Weatherford.
Honorary pallbearers are the Muscle Shoals Firefighters.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a church of choice.
