  Rebecca “Sally” Johnson, 82, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Generations Senior Living in Saltillo. She was born April 6, 1942 to the late Whitt Poteet and the late Fern Stephens Poteet. For 20 years, she loved working at Wal-Mart in various positions, before her retirement, and since she was a people person, the career was perfect for her. Sally enjoyed cross stitching, playing the piano, canning, doing dot to dot puzzles, and doing the Jitterbug with Mr. Murel in their younger days. She loved spending time with her family playing Rook, and dominos, especially her grandchildren. For the past 6 years, she lived at Generations Senior Living in Saltillo where she enjoyed being and loved all the staff and caregivers that looked after her.
Funeral services, celebrating her life, will be at 3 pm on Thursday July 11, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Hurt officiating.
Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1pm-3pm on Thursday July 11, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by her sons, Chet (Sherry) Johnson of Huntsville, AL, and Cotton (Michelle) Johnson of Nettleton; granddaughters, Katie (Stevie) Creel of Trussville, AL, and Maddie Johnson of Nettleton; great granddaughter, Anna Kate Tillman of Trussville, sisters, Susie Mansell of Tupelo, and Baby Dear McKay of Lansing, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murel Johnson; parents, Whitt and Fern Poteet, 5 brothers, and 4 sister
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Mansell, Rodney Poteet, Jay Mansell, Mike Hawkins, Kenny Hawkins, and Jimmy Hawkins.
